5 Planning Habits That Keep Me Consistent, Focused, and Organized

A simple system that helps my busy life feel a whole lot more doable.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re juggling way too many things at once, friend… same. That’s exactly why I use the Tula XII planning system — it helps me stay consistent, organized, and grounded, even on the fullest weeks.

Over the past year, I’ve built five core planning habits that truly keep my week running smoothly. These habits are simple, repeatable, and don’t take a lot of time — but together they help me stay on track with my goals, my home, my work, and my life.

Here are the five habits I lean on every single week:

1. Start Each Month with Your “Top 3” Focus Areas

Before the month begins, I sit down with my Tula XII monthly insert and choose my Top 3 priorities for the month.
These are the big-picture things that matter most — like:

  • Self-love & mindset
  • Home expansive (decluttering)
  • Weight loss or health goals
  • A business project
  • A creative or personal milestone

Your Top 3 become your pillars.
Your north star.
Your filter.

It keeps you focused so you’re not pulled in 20 different directions.

2. Break Those Monthly Goals Into Daily Top 3s

Here’s the magic:
Your Daily Top 3 are the smaller, doable actions that support the monthly Top 3.

Examples:

  • If your monthly goal is “Home Expansive,” a daily Top 3 might be “trash removal, 10-minute tidy, donate bag.”
  • If your goal is “Self-Love,” your daily Top 3 might include “affirmation, journaling, meditation.”
  • If your goal is business-related, your Daily Top 3 might include “Pinterest pins, one video, email draft.”

This keeps your goals from living on a pretty page and actually turns them into progress.

3. Daily Planning in My Bullet Journal

Every morning (or the night before), I sit down with my bullet journal and plan out:

  • My Daily Top 3
  • Tasks
  • Schedule
  • Notes
  • A quick reflection

You don’t need a complicated layout — just space for your brain to breathe.

This routine grounds me.  It helps me walk into my day with intention instead of chaos.

4. Tracking What Matters (Sleep + Monthly Goals)

I track the habits that actually make a difference in my life:

  • Sleep
  • Movement
  • Water
  • Self-love habits
  • My goals for the month
  • Mood (if I’m in a season where I need it)

These little squares help me stay honest with myself.

Not perfect — aware.  Tula XII makes tracking easy because I can keep everything together.

5. Weekly & Monthly Reviews

This is the habit that holds all the others together.

Each week I ask myself:

  • What worked?
  • What didn’t?
  • Where did I feel the most resistance?
  • What am I proud of?
  • What needs to shift for next week?

Then at the end of the month, I zoom out and review the entire month:

  • Did my Top 3 feel aligned?
  • What did I learn about myself?
  • What will I take into the next month?
  • Where can I simplify?

These reflections keep me evolving, adjusting, and staying in alignment with the life I’m building.

🌼 Final Thoughts

You don’t need a complicated planning system to feel organized — you just need a system you can stick with.

These five habits pair beautifully with the Tula XII system and help me feel grounded, organized, and intentional every week. I hope they inspire you to create your own rhythm and find a planning flow that supports the life you want.
